這是一首讓人發自內心感到輕鬆愉快的曲子。

一個又一個的音符充滿活力的不斷跳躍著，卻又在看似可以預期其行動時，突然趨前或停滯，不被框架所拘束，像極了嬉鬧中的俏皮頑童，也讓人想起動畫裡追逐著龍貓的小梅。

在《龍貓》人物設計之初，主角家中原本只有一位小孩，而後為了故事結構的鋪陳，需要兩位不同特質的女孩，才出現了妹妹小梅與姊姊皋月兩個角色。

〈散步〉是動畫開場的片頭曲，我小時候總是一邊聽著這首歌，一邊著迷似的看著樂曲動畫中逐漸變成「トトロ」字樣的小龍貓、從畫面右邊散步到左邊的小梅、以及時不時跑出來轉個幾圈的各種昆蟲……小時候的快樂，總是可以非常簡單。

「散步去、散步去，我精神飽滿、最喜歡散步。走過斜坡、隧道、草原、獨木橋，還有凹凸不平的石子路……」

〈散步〉的歌詞是宮崎駿委託兒童文學作家中川李枝子所作。「希望這是一首像童話般親切、能讓小孩子立刻記住且琅琅上口的歌。」宮崎駿這麼說。

「很有精神的走著、走著，我最喜歡散步了，就這樣繼續走下去吧！」

聽著這首歌，不只心情會變好，也會讓人想出去散散步呢！希望大家能快樂的享受這首歌！

The lyrics of "Walk" were written by children's literature writer Rieko Nakagawa at the request of Hayao Miyazaki. "I hope this is a song that is as friendly as a fairy tale and easy for children to remember immediately and sing," said Miyazaki.

"I am walking and walking with great energy. I love taking a walk the most. Let's just keep walking!"
